Southgrove Bike Ride
it was six something in the morning when Kyle knocked on our door and asked me if I wanted to go for a (bike) ride. I said, not today. I went back to bed but could no longer sleep. I quickly got up and told Kyle I was going with him for the ride.
Last Wednesday, I rode around the village covering roughly ten kilometers at slow speed. It felt good and was planning to ride again the following day hoping to cover more distance. It did not happen. Too tired from the high energy gig the night before.
Today, I felt I was ready. The ride felt comfortable, slow pace lang but then Kyle was pulling away. I picked up speed and was quickly behind Kyle. If you ride a bike, you know how much effort was put catching up and maintaining a somehow steady fast speed. The legs were starting to ache and I was falling behind again.

We continued to ride towards Nuvali turning right to Westgrove. I was riding behind Kyle at a comfortable distance when he passed several bike riders waiting at the inter-section to cross the road. Unfortunately, I didn't have any video camera that time to catch the reaction of those riders who, simultaneously, turned their heads and followed "Uno" as she passed by :)).
We were halfway between South Forbes and Westgrove when I felt that I could no longer continue, I was getting tired already. We stopped at G's Spa for a few minutes rest. I called the named that place "SOUTHGROVE" hehehe...

Third pit stop was at the Paseo Complex. Stayed there for a few minutes before going to the bread shop for a cuppa.

Father's Day June 2012
So many exciting things happened on Father's Day, June 17, 2012.
Attended the 6am church service in Balibago West. We anticipate that the traffic to Tagaytay Highlands is going to be heavy, Father's Day it is, so we had to do everything earlier than usual.
Left home at 10am, traffic was not as bad as I thought it would be. We arrived at the Steakhouse around 1115am or so, plenty of time to sound check I thought. But there were guests already as we walked in the dinning hall. Rush, rush, rush... 1155am, we're ready to rumble!!!
12noon time's up! We started doing what we do best, playing music to the TH members, families and their guests. Daming tao, pati Montana occupied. That's about 250 to 300 guests.
1245pm, first break. Our manager (Dee) commented on how we sounded, so we did some adjustments.
0100pm. Back on the set. Nice to see people responding positively to every song we play.
0145pm. Second break. Manager comments on how great we sounded. Yey!
0200pm. Back on the set. We were rocking, literally. Our final song "Fix You" by Coldplay.
0245pm. Pack up time.
0300pm. Lunch at the Golf Club Canteen. Walked around the clubhouse area across to the Funicular. Hopped on the funicular down to the Midlands. Had a look around the Midlands Clubhouse. Took some photos... Hopped back on to the funicular back to the Highlands.
(TH pix and videos to follow)
0600pm. Left TH. We were exhausted from all the walking. Dee drove us down to Sta. Rosa.
We dropped by Conti's in Nuvali before proceeding to Shakey's. We were #10 on the waiting list at Shakey's so Kyle suggested Hungry Hippo's at the Phoenix Gas Station. At first, there were only the three of us. Few minutes later the place was full. A mugga was compliments of Hungry Hippo's to all fathers dinning there.
We had Magnum Almond Special for dessert c/o Kyle. Conti's Mango Bravo for late dessert at home.

Gig at Windsor Tavern, Paseo de Sta. Rosa
That's me in blue shirt with guitar, jamming with The 68 Special one Friday night at Windsor Tavern. Nice to be singing along with Randy and Robin Concepcion. We used to be band mates several years ago which was then called "Laguna Jam". The 68 Special are great musicians with awesome repertoire! Keep up the good job gentlemen...
Jamming with The 68 Special
Incidentally, during that jamming with The 68 Special, one of the owners was in the audience and was able to hear me. We talked about MASID auditioning for a slot at the Windsor Tavern. We were given the opportunity to audition the following day and almost instantly we were asked to choose a slot where we want to perform. Wednesday, sounded like a good day, so we chose Wednesday as our gig day.
MASID in action during first gig night
We, MASID, know through experience that Wednesday's are off days for gimmick goers. Because it is midweek, it becomes difficult to invite customers to chill. This is a challenge to us. We know that there are people still out there who dig our kind of music. They'll find ways and use all excuses just to be able to hear us... hehehe.
We invite you guys every Wednesday, 8pm to 11pm and listen for yourself. See y'all :)
Cheers,
MASID
